The Season, Resolved

The regular season is complete. Buffalo wins the Atlantic Division under both scoring systems — 109 NHL pts (to Tampa Bay and Montreal's 106), and 152 under 3-2-1 (to TB's 148 and MTL's 145). Buffalo's 42 regulation wins — tied with Dallas for 2nd in the league behind Colorado's absurd 48 — is the biggest driver. Colorado remained untouchable all year: 121 NHL pts / 175 under 3-2-1, a 21-point gap over Dallas in the new system.

Playoffs, Reshaped

Under 3-2-1, the playoff field changes. Philadelphia and Anaheim miss out; Washington and St. Louis get in. Both flipped teams lost their spots due to regulation-win weakness — Philly had only 27 RW from 43 wins; Anaheim just 26 from 43.

Biggest Δ

Washington jumps from 4th in the Met to 3rd under 3-2-1 (they had 37 RW — 4th-most in the East). Philadelphia slides from 2nd-place Met (tied on NHL pts) to 4th. Los Angeles takes 3rd in the Pacific over Anaheim.
